Kiwis Driving Up Travel Insurance Claims in Europe, Payouts Exceed $2.7 Million
Recent data shows that 1Cover New Zealand has paid over $2.7 million in travel insurance claims to Kiwi customers travelling in Europe since May.
The largest single claim topped $96,000.
Rosann Connolly George, co-owner of Vincent George Travel Agents, told broadcaster Mike Hosking that amid ongoing weather disruptions and global uncertainties, having travel insurance is more important than ever.
She noted that many travelers to Europe are middle-aged or older, which contributes to a higher volume of claims.
