British holidaymakers have been advised to be extra cautious about insect bites while traveling abroad, as certain bites could lead to illnesses that may invalidate travel insurance.
With the risk of diseases like Yellow Fever, TBE, and Dengue, taking the right precautions before heading overseas is crucial to avoid any unpleasant surprises.
Alicia Hempsted from MoneySuperMarket emphasized the importance of getting vaccinated for diseases transmitted by mosquito and insect bites. She noted that if a traveler chooses not to get vaccinated and later becomes ill from a bite, their travel insurance claim could be rejected.
However, Hempsted also clarified that it’s not an automatic rule, and each case would be evaluated individually by insurance providers.
Travelers are encouraged to research necessary vaccines and take protective measures before embarking on their trips to ensure they are covered in the event of illness.
