Approximately 75% of Kyrgyzstan’s population is now covered by health insurance, according to Sanjarbek Isayev, Deputy Chairman of the Mandatory Health Insurance Fund, who made the announcement during a Parliament meeting.
Isayev highlighted that insured citizens are entitled to discounted medications, with a list of 700 drugs available for coverage.
Additionally, twelve types of laboratory tests are offered for free as part of the insurance plan.
During the meeting, MP Altynbek Kylychbayev raised a question regarding the charges for certain laboratory tests. In response, Isayev clarified that tests included in the official list are provided free of charge.
However, tests that are not part of the list may incur additional fees. He also noted that there are specialized laboratory tests that are excluded from the free list.
