Anthea Holding Limited, a crypto-fintech group, has secured $22 million in Series A funding to launch the world’s first life insurance policy denominated in Ethereum (ETH). The investment round, led by Yunfeng Financial Group Limited, also saw participation from a diverse set of institutional and strategic backers, including experts in insurance, asset management, and financial technology.
This milestone funding marks a major step in Anthea’s mission to modernize life insurance and provide innovative solutions for the digital economy. The new capital will be used to launch the groundbreaking Ethereum-denominated life insurance policy, scale Anthea’s operations, enhance product development, and expand the company’s market presence across Asia.
A Step Toward Digital Asset Integration in Insurance
Anthea’s CEO, Alex Pei, expressed enthusiasm about the funding, saying, “This funding round is more than capital — it represents strategic alignment with partners who share our vision for the future of insurance.” He emphasized the importance of integrating innovation with protection, adding, “We are building a global platform where digital assets and life insurance converge.”
This announcement follows Anthea Insurance Limited’s recent in-principle approval from the Bermuda Monetary Authority (BMA) to register as an Innovative Insurer, bolstering the company’s credentials in offering regulated, digital asset-based insurance solutions.

With the infusion of capital, Anthea plans to focus on the integration of blockchain-based payment systems, the development of yield-generating mechanisms, and the launch of new products aimed at both crypto enthusiasts and traditional investors seeking regulated exposure to digital assets.
