Tryouts consist of a short interview and an 8-minute speech. 
In this speech, we want to hear which Issue you are arguing (compelled speech or freedom of association) and which side (petitioner or respondent). After looking through the case problem, you can then decide the issue you are most impassioned for and which side would be best for try-outs. 

The most important notes for the tryout are:

• It consists of an 8-minute speech which we will record and review.

• We will ask questions during your speech. These questions will come from the case problem and will help us see how conversational you are. 

• You should not worry about tryouts. Everyone improves drastically throughout the semester, and we utilize tryouts to see who has the drive to be on the team. 

• Every new and returning applicant will receive the same evaluation, and we hope to fund an +12 person team.
